Finding support and comfort
Mental illnesses cause affected individuals to suffer, which in turn impacts their family and loved ones. Still subject to many taboos, mental illness is not always discussed freely. Fortunately, there are organizations that support and assist individuals in dealing with and understanding their illnesses.
People who have been close to someone with a mental illness often get involved in these organizations to offer comfort and support to others. Other more specialized services can provide you with information about different mental illnesses or help you better understand the inner workings of the health care system.
