Chinese delegation visits the Centre de recherche de l'Institut Philippe-Pinel de Montréal

On September 28th, the Statistics Consulting Group (SCG), welcomed a group of 30 Chinese delegates. This unusual visit comes as part of a North American tour bringing together managers from different provinces of China with,  at its head, Mr. Donghua Wan, Managing Director of the Department of Comprehensive Statistics of the National Bureau of Statistics in Beijing.

 
During this meeting, the Director of the Centre de recherche de l’Institut Philippe-Pinel de Montréal (CRIPPMI), Mr. Gilles Côté, underlined the important contribution of the SCG to research activities. Mr. Jean-François Allaire, Senior Statistician and Coordinator of the SCG, described the Group’s mission, its expertise and also the main services available. Furthermore, four case studies illustrated the innovative spirit and varied expertise of the SCG’s members.
 
Very satisfied with their visit of the Institute, the delegates warmly thanked the SCG’s coordinator and members for their hospitality and their contributions to the science of statistics.
 
During its stay in Canada, the Chinese delegation visited many specialized organisations, notably Statistics Canada, UNESCO Institute of Statistics, among others, to acquire a new knowledge of data management and statistical analysis. 
 
Members of the SCG are proud to have been part of the delegation’s program on Canadian soil. This meeting constitutes a shining moment on the international scene for the Statistics Consulting Group.
